Maxxum
Construction Corp (Maxxum) incorporated under the laws of
New York State on June 21, 2001. Maxxum is a full service
Construction Management and General Construction firm
certified by Empire State Development as a Minority Business
Enterprise (MBE). Maxxum has experience in commercial,
institutional and residential construction throughout Long
Island, New York City and Lower Westchester County. Licensed
and fully insured, Maxxum is committed to complying with
industry standards and regulations. Maxxum provides
individuals, organizations, and institutions with quality
service while building lasting relationships. We have
satisfied the needs of previous clients as we look forward

Michael A. Mahabeer
President
Michael A. Mahabeer is the founder and president of
Maxxum Construction Corp. He has incorporated past
experience and education to grow a general
construction company into a firm that continues to
provide its clients with quality construction
services. Michael received a B.A. and M.B.A. from
the New York Institute of Technology, and he is a
member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
He has furthered his education by taking Project
Management courses at New York University and
training and certifications from OSHA. |

From 1999 to
2004 Michael served as the Assistant Project Manager/ Safety
Engineer for Gottlieb Skanska, Inc. (GSI). In this capacity,
he assisted in project control, coordination, work layout,
scheduling and expediting. He reviewed contract requirements
for subcontractors, vendors, and handled product and process
approval for quality and cost effective job completion.
Michael conducted inspections and safety meetings to ensure
compliance with GSI’s Safety Program and OSHA; he managed
GSI’s Confined Space Awareness Program and provided employee
training. |

From 1996 to
1999 he served as a Project Coordinator for the Roosevelt
Island Operating Corporation of the State of New York (RIOC),
responsible for managing the grounds and facilities
division. Michael developed and implemented innovative
strategies to improve the division’s operations and
maintenance on this 147 acre island in Manhattan’s East
River. He streamlined the division’s expenses by modernizing
its warehouse inventory system; he managed bidding and
procurement processes, negotiated purchasing and contracts,
as well as assisted with contractor selection. Michael was
the liaison between RIOC and contractors. He designed and
managed design implementation for Roosevelt Island’s public
safety department, computer rooms, interior office spaces
and main street décor. |

Claudy Fleury
Project Superintendent
Claudy Fleury has exceptional organizational and team
motivational skills. He has an excellent understanding of
the construction process and is experienced in implementing
each phase while identifying potential difficulties early
and effecting the appropriate action. He is proficient in
planning, organizing, and executing each phase of the
construction process to include pre-construction phase
design review and preparation of construction documents;
construction phase design implementation and coordination of
work and workers; and post-construction phase work and
document closeout. Additional responsibilities include
jobsite safety review and training, project cost analysis,
client negotiations, subcontractor selection, material
purchasing, project budgeting and scheduling. Claudy
received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from
the New York Institute of Technology.
From 2002 to 2006 Claudy served as a Field Engineering
Technician for Honeywell DMC. With Honeywell DMC he managed
the installation of residential and commercial load
controlled thermostats for LIPA and CON EDISON; incorporated
EPA and OSHA regulations into safety procedures; repaired
and/or replace building mechanical systems components,
including programmable logic controls. He has acquired a
vast understanding of mechanical equipment, utilities,
distribution systems, and controls including maintenance and
troubleshooting. He is also skilled in computer-based
monitoring and control devices in maintaining and
troubleshooting HVAC systems. |

Michelle N.
Mahabeer
Project Engineer
Michelle has exceptional organizational and management
skills. She manages Maxxum’s Invitation to Bid calendar,
attends project site visits, and assists in estimating and
bid preparation. She maintains contract, client and vendor
files including subcontractor insurance review and contract
receivables. She also assists in contract documentation and
submittal preparation. Her knowledge of various computer
software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Sage Software
and QuickBooks, proves invaluable to the company. Michelle
received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the New
York Institute of Technology. |
